$500

SOLD!
Available December 21

1991 Toyota Camry LE  V6 sedan.
160,000 miles
Automatic transmission, power steering, power windows, power locks, cruise control, AC/heat, power driver seat.
JVC SH99, detatchable face MP3/CD player.

Oil changed every 5000 miles.

$2215 private party value according to kbb.com based on my assessment of 'fair' condition.
$2400 "Average Retail" value according to NADA Guides. $1575 "Low Retail" according to the same.

UPDATE: Turns out after getting a thorough pre-sales inspection that this car will need a fair amount of work before too long. It's leaking oil from the engine (but not enough to require adding oil between oil changes), and that is getting on the timing belt. The CV boots need some work soon. A few other things. Drives great now, but will need a fair amount of work to keep running this well long term. Note that the MP3/CD stereo alone, which I installed, is $199 retail, so that's basically only $300 for the car! Or just think of it as like 20 days of rental car and you get to keep the car when you're done!

$30 Compaq iPaq 3135
  • iPaq main unit (battery dead)
  • $70 Vaja leather case (this one, but in black leather).
  • USB docking cradle
  • Extra USB sync cable
  • AC power adapter
  • Compact flash sleeve
  • About a billion screen protectors
  • Original manuals and software.
The iPaq 3135 has the standard 206MHz processor, but a black and white screen. It is the B&W version of the iPaq 3600 series. This is a nice deal if you already have an iPaq 31xx, 36xx, or 37xx, which use the same connetors, docks, and have the same form factor for the case. Here are more tech specs for the 3135.

The down side: the battery is dead on this iPaq. I called HP tech support and replacing the battery is going to cost $130 if you send it to them. However, it seems to be something you could replace yourself for about $49 if you buy a kit, or buy a different kit, and if you don't mind getting your hands dirty a bit.

$25
SOLD!
Viewsonic PT770 Professional 17" Monitor.  Here are some specs.
It's a Trinitron-like aperture grille monitor, so vertically flat, horizontally slightly curved.  Good brightness.  Magazines were reviewing this monitor highly when I bought it.  I honestly can't remember what I paid for it new but I remember quite vividly having to convince my wife that it was worth it to spend extra on the monitor because you can keep a monitor through several computer upgrades.  And sure enough that's exactly what I did.  But now I'm planning to buy a flat panel when I get to Japan rather than lug 30 lbs of lead over there.

$10
SOLD!
SIIG PCMCIA Dual FireWire card.
Use FireWire devices on any laptop that has a PCMCIA slot! That means you can use Apple (FireWire) iPods, and video camcorders, among other things. (I bought it to use one of the original iPods with my PC before there was an official PC-iPod.)
A $50 value!

Image shows a slightly different model from the one I'm selling, but the link points to the correct item. The one I have uses a dongle rather than built-in ports.

$10
SOLD!
Dan-o-wah Wah Wah pedal for electric guitar.

Pump up your playing with some classy funky sounds, 70's style.

$15
SOLD!
Bread making machine.
Breadman brand. Makes 2lb loaves.

$10
SOLD!
Toaster oven.

Converts bread into toast, through a process of high-temperature oxidation. Also converts raw fish into cooked fish, through a process called "broiling". Though some of us prefer to leave it raw.

$5
SOLD!
Labtec Pulse-420 Amplified PC Speakers with subwoofer.
No picture $5 Amplified PC Speakers

$5 PC Joystick
Thrustmaster-alike from CompUSA.
Game port interface.

$5 Sony portable stereo with dual cassette.  Speakers detatch for extra cool factor.  You'll impress the ladies with this one, no doubt.  Also has aux in for connecting an external CD or MP3 player or whatever floats you.

No picture $5
SOLD!
Electric back massager by Wahl. Soothes aching muscles.

$5 Electric can opener. Open cans electrically.
No picture $4 Iron w/ steam and spray.

No irony here. Just an iron.

No picture $2 Pair of outdoor plastic deck chairs

Green in color. Smooth in texture. Plain in flavor. Odorless in smell.

$5 Bag of beanie babies and others.

$10 Bell ultra cool "Vertigo Pro" bike helmet.
Feel like you're biking really high up and you're afraid of heights.

Medium size. Sticker on box says $39.99. I think actually never wore this on a ride. I bought this snazzy new helmet, and paid to get our bikes fixed up so my wife and I could ride together, and then found out my wife doesn't like to ride bikes. Wha? I was stunned. Who doesn't like to ride bikes?

$3 Blacklight.

Make your next party actually cool. Needs a little electronic gizmo (ballast?) that plugs in the end to work.

$3 Sushi shaped like candles.

Er, I mean candles shaped like sushi. Just what you've always needed but had been to busy eating real sushi to realize.

$4 Desk lamp.

Halogen-ariffic. Needs a little bit of superglue repair work.

$4 Scotch brand labeler.

Mark all your possessions with old-school hipness using this EA200 labeler from who knows when. Spring loaded action! Refillable tape compartment! Rotating wheel!

$5 Leather attache case.

Lots of compartments. Convenient carrying strap for your convenience in carrying. Hard to tell from the picture but the color is a deep dark green, not black. Very attractive. I don't think my wife ever used this.

$4 Fancy purse.

Looks like some sort of Thai pattern to me. Made of leather. Except the pattern part, which is made of thread. Convenient carrying strap fits over most shoulders. Doesn't look to have been used at all.

$5 Parcheesi, the classic board game.

Apparently this is "a backgammon game of India". And "gold seal edition". Hopefully, no actual gold seals were injured in the making. But you never know, back in 1964 that sort of thing might have been considered OK. These 1964 editions sometimes sell for $30 on eBay.

$5 "Pit" the Frenzied Trading Game

Check out the horn-rims on pops! The box is from about 1973, dating based on others for sale on eBay, but there's a bonus! A second set of Pit cards are in the box, which appear to be from 1964 or so. No rules booklet, but I'm sure you can find them online somewhere.

$5
SOLD!
Wabbit Wampage adventure board game.

Cartoon madness! Adult Strategy!, or so the box proclaims. This is a profoundly silly game for 2-4 players based loosely on the antics of Looney Tunes characters. The Wabbits are getting mad, and they're trying to take over Farmer Brown's fields. Order an ACME jet pack to help your Wabbits zip around faster, or mail order some dynamite to lay siege to Farmer Brown's dog house. I have played this game far more times than I care to admit. It's very amusing. Up to three folks can play Wabbit tribes, and one player is Farmer Brown.

$5
SOLD!
A 1000 Piece Jigsaw puzzle.

Never opened. Happy little cottage scene.

$4
SOLD!
A 1000 Piece Jigsaw puzzle.

$5 3D Sculpture Puzzle

Still shrink-wrapped in the box. Build your own woman. This one is "a whole different dimension in puzzles".

$5
SOLD!
Pillow covers.

Decorated in what I think is Thai style with little mirrors sewn in. I might have bought these in Thailand when I was there, but it was so long ago, I just don't remember.

$150 The computer desk partially pictured above.
I purchased it new in 2002 after searching around for just the right desk.  Pull-out keyboard tray.  The whole thing is on wheels.  And there's a little bracket on the side that you can put your PC tower into.   Combined with the wheels, it makes it very easy to get at the back side of your PC for plugging things in and popping open the case, etc.  This desk has been proven capable of producing Ph.D. quality material!

$3055 private party value according to kbb, based on my assessment of 'good' condition.
$3375 "Average Retail" value according to NADA Guides. $2500 "Low Retail" according to the same.

Price reduced drastically on account of finding out that it needs some transmission work. Probably replacing the casing.
